hill climb Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I'am looking to get a engine stud installation tool but I can't find what size the studs are to get the correct tool. Can someone please tell me what size or tool I need for the job. Thanks for any help. Quote
powerman350 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 wich studs? you can usually get studs in and out by putting 2 nuts on and tightening them together then loosen the stud with the bottom nut . to put them back in tighten the top nut. makes the stud like a bolt. Quote
troyminator Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I think the studs are M8's. My studs were stripped, so I borrowed a stud removal tool from my friend. It was a snap-on...really nice one that just uses a socket wrench. BE CAREFULL! I broke 2 of them off and had a third one bend. I had to have a friend remove them and put Kineserts in:( I tried the two nut trick too...but they were rusted in and didn't want to come out...not even with every penetrating oil I could find.
