I tried a search and even looked in each forum, but couldn't find it......

I was looking for it because my riding pants melted on to the pipe, and now the pipe looks like crap... banghead ...

If anyone can find the post or tell me what will take it off, i will gladly buy them a beer (I.D. required)..... :D

Thanks...

Same deal here,...my boots always melt on my headers. You can scotch-brite the shit off of there & then polish it up with mothers. I'm to the point where i don't really give a chit...I plan on getting them ceramic coated someday when I get tired of looking at the melted shit on the pipes.

Dunno where that post's at that you're asking about.

Stay away from "scotch brite" I have found that it will scratch the chrome on pipes. Instead try using some #00 steel wool with some glass cleaner as lubrication, works great for me.

Sounds good Dunedemon, I haven't had any problems yet...but I also haven't had to scrub on them a whole lot. Does scuff a bit, but nothing I've not been able to buff out. Next time I'll try your steel wool & glass cleaner gig. B)

I use the 0000 steel wool, and it will get off anything that melts on those chromed beauties. Go to a Harley dealer and they will sell you some stuff that removes the heat "blueing" that you will get on T-5's and T-6's from using the Toomy jet kit. ;)
