Otis Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 My work truck recently got "tagged" on the job site...It's not all that bad, but looks silly (a big silver number 2 on the driver side door, and some overspray on the door handle) Question...Is there anything i can use to remove the spray paint from the door, with out damaging the OE paint, or will it have to be sanded off, and the door repainted? Most of the paint on the door handle i was able to get off w/ my finger nail, and doent really look all that bad. I'm mainly concerned about the door itself. ANY help is appreciated... Quote
blk02banshee Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 rubbing compound and lots of elbow grease . Quote

Otis Posted April 10, 2004 Author Report Posted April 10, 2004 Are these taggers getting so lazy that they don't paint murals on everything they see anymore??? It was at a middle school addition ...so maybe they were new to it...working their way up to bigger things.... ... hey where's the flame thrower????????? Quote
Oilsmoke Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Try Lacquer thinner on a rag. Wet it lightly and rub lightly so as to get a feel for it. Hit an area, watch the rag, paint on truck, and let thinner evaporate before to try that area again. Repeat where needed until desired look is attained. Some painter use this to remove over spray dust & should work on spray can paint. Quote

Maybe while you're there you can see if they would want to add on a jail. I swear they just need to make some of the class rooms jail cells these days. When I was a kid we played basket ball all damn night, or we went riding our bikes to some dirt hills...shit like that. Well..I guess they spelled the number 2 right i.e. wasn't backwards. They have that going for them. Who knows, maybe one day they'll be a door greeter at some high profile falling prices kind of store. Quote

dcmoose Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 kids will be kids though. do ing the bad stuff is so much more fun then doing the not so bad stuff. When we went out to casue ruckess when i was 17 or 18(only 5 yuears ago) we never did stuff that could not be easily fixed or replaced. Like lawn orniments, my mom has more lawn crap then anybody. We use to steal all kinds of shit like that during scavanger hunts, bring it back to our cribs when we were done. We never keyed cars or spry painted anything like that. Thats some hoodlums that should be beaten with fishing pole till they pass out. OUr riule of thumb was if your doin bad shit like that just think how mad you would be if somone did that to you, and if you would get real mad don't do it, but if you would get a little angry, and smile about it later then it was ok to do.
