tweeder_82_us Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 ok i have a 2000 banshee, only mods are fmf pipes and aftermarket air filter and i used the provided jets that came with the pipes...for 2 years with the new jets its ran perfect, there has never been the need to replace anything. the last couple days at low rpm's its kinda bogging and back firing. the jetting has never been a problem in cold or warm wheather. i changed the plugs to brand new plugs problem still exsists, my fuel mixture has always been right on, it starts up first kick no problem so i dont think its anything to do with compression.....after about half throttle power is still emaculate. its just at low rpms it seems to studder and backfire and lose power almost.....but if i just full throttle it its running perfect. what could the problem be ? please help Quote
cb67rs1 Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 ever take your carbs off and clean them? your pilots ,or one of them , could be clogged. it will make the bike run like shit on low end. Quote
tweeder_82_us Posted March 30, 2004 Author Report Posted March 30, 2004 no i havent taken the carbs off to clean them, but i'll have to try that i'm just gathering all the possible causes before i start tearing it down thanks for that idea though that sounds very likely Quote
reas11 Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 hows your air filter look? that is one of the things often overlooked, it only takes a few to check it .. Quote
DBLtapS Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 has it gotten warmer? Might be the weather. Where are your air screws? Turn them out to lean up the low end. CHECK YOUR PLUGS! Quote
Rescuejeff Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I had the same problem with my 89, and changing the pilots and upping the main alot fixed my problem. How do the plugs look and have you put new plugs in a runit at top end and shut off to get a good read on them??? Check that first and start playing with your mains, I ride in the California sand dunes for me, pilots of 35, mains 320 with FMF fatties, K&N aftermarket airfilter. Quote
