I currently have a +6 swingarm on my shee with 12 paddle extremes (22"). I can't launch in 2nd without the front end wanting to swap ends with the back end so people always holeshot me. On treeshots I end up comming up in 1st because the front end gets too high. The bike is drag ported so the powerband comes on very hard.

Does anyone have any ideas on whether a +8 would be long enough or should I just bite the bullet and get a +10 (and practically give up trail riding)?

Also, who has good prices on round housing swingarms? I am looking into Tucker ProArm, but it looks like their prices went up. I'd like to keep it at or under $600 chromed with carrier. I can fab up my own but i've never made a swingarm before.

There are a few things you can try before you spend money on a longer swingarm. First thing is play with tire pressure (I think your over paddled). Try adjusting a few pounds of air pressure up and down. How much power are you making? You might want to try some 21-22 inch 10 paddle haulers or 9 paddle extremes. What about your gearing... what are you running front and back? There are a few cheap things you can try first.

What rate rear spring are you running? With a +6" arm you need enough spring rate to keep the rear suspension from completley compressing when launching. If you don't have enough rear spring rate when you launch the spring will block out (commonly refered to as "coil bind"). When the rear spring blocks the rear suspension is in active, the power being delivered is translated directly to the chassis at this point, this could be conributing to your high front end when launching.

On a side note you will probably have a hard time finding a chrome round housing +8 or +10 arm new, for less than $600.

I would say you are over paddled if you are running a 350cc.

Extreme 12 would be like a 14 hauler.

I try a set of 10 haulers off a buddy and see before i spent The money.
