cb67rs1 Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 we used the bench grinder with a polishing wheel on my buddys to clean his pipes up when they rusted, it worked really good. just use a little polishing compound and it should work ok for ya Quote
Demon350 Posted March 28, 2004 Author Report Posted March 28, 2004 thats alot of work isnt there a chemical or polish ? Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 you might be able to get away wiht CLR from any store, but it may come to sanding and polishing, or rechroming Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 thats alot of work isnt there a chemical or polish ? Thats about it. If you get Mothers Mag polish and use a rag, you'll be there until you're 60 years old. You could just go have them re chromed. Thats probably the easiest, but most expensive way. Quote
cb67rs1 Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 try some 00 steal wool depending on how much rust that might clean them up also Quote
Demon350 Posted March 28, 2004 Author Report Posted March 28, 2004 thats guna infest them in tiny scratches Quote
nate1999mxz600 Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 i gently rubbed steel wool on my pipes and they came out perfect with no noticeable scratches Quote
. Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 they have this naval jelly stuff (its pink), you can get it at wal-mart in the automotive paint section I believe. It will reduce rust to as small of a spot as possibly it can, usually smaller than the eye can see. what happens is that it'll get a little pinhole of rust in the chrome and then spread on the top of it. Any way you do it, its gonna take some arm work, but thats your best bet, besides rechroming. If its really bad, I'd consider the latter Quote
MULLET~BOY Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 steal wool made for paint works good Quote
bpreuss Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 use 0000 steel wool, that wont scratch them Quote
