im taking my shee for a dyno test this week so i was wondring should i take my gearing back to stock im running 15/40 at the moment because i want a correct reading

hmm let me think that over:

Normally a dyno test would be done in 5th gear since this ratio is closest to 1:1.

wont the final drive ratio make a difference banchetta?

It is my understanding that gearing does affect the dyno #s. But just so we will all know, take another size sprocket with you and try it out. I am thinking that 15/40 will pull higher numbers than the stock 14/41.

Dynos can compensate for gearing by using a correction factor. This factor comes from the final gear ratio and the sprocket ratio. Have you guys ever wondered how some dynos show a lot more HP than others.... they can always fudge the numbers to their favor.

The dyno can compensate by the rotation vs your rpms.....so gearing doesn't affect it..when you first dyno, you run it at a steady rpm to adjust the dyno, at least a good dyno anyways....

i have a dyno run this week and the guy told me he had one of the newer machines that would compensate for the gearing of the bike and it would show the actual HP's, we will see
