DBLtapS Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 I flipped my shee tonight and bent the bars all up. Now she wont run past an idle. I know its the tors. Is there anyway to bypass tors without getting the kit? A buddy told me if I splice the yellow and black wires togeather, I will be good. Anyone heard of this? Thanks Quote
stealthawd Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Just unplug the black box above the left side cylinder mounted on the frame... Quote
nate1999mxz600 Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 i just spliced the yellow and black together. i havent tried it yet though but it should work Quote
Dune Ratt Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 If you splice the wires together it will have the wrong effect you do not want to close the curcit. Just unplug it or clip the wires to leave the curcit open. Quote
DBLtapS Posted March 26, 2004 Author Report Posted March 26, 2004 when you unplug them, the bike wont idle. I'll splice them togeather and let you know. Quote
fixitrod Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Just unplug the black box above the left side cylinder mounted on the frame... That's what you need to do to test the tors. It will not limit the cdi if it's unplugged. Quote
blk02banshee Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 They just need to be adjusted . Quote
cb67rs1 Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 just unplugg the black box and you will be fine Quote
deathmetal2004 Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 i unpluged the black box on mine and cut all the wires down to free up some space, no problems at all. i unplugged the wires at the tors housings on the carbs before i unplugged the box, and it wouldnt run past idle. just disconnect the box and you wont have any problems, no splicing required Quote
stealthawd Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 when you unplug them, the bike wont idle. I'll splice them togeather and let you know. yeah it will...the reason the idle kit is required is not electrical, it's the TORS tops and caps above the carbs. if they are still physically in place, the bike will still idle. if you remove them physically, you will need an idle kit.
