knight_ripper Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 He had a 400ex and had the 465 kit installed, but now he cant get it jetted right. He was having a problem starting it till he went and bought a new battery...lol. Anyway, he just put in a new needle....made it idle and improved his lower end....however....hes getting nothing but bog in the top end. He is using the stock keihin carb currently. My question to you is, if you were building a 465, what carb would you put on it? Money of course is no option. (I wish I had the same luxery) What brand and size would be best suited for this setup? I know this is a banshee forum....I myself bleed blue....and my buddy, is sick of me kicking his ass....so he went and got the 465 build...But now it wont run right. I just thought this may be a good place to ask. Quote
BakoBanshee Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 I think I read somewhere that the Keihin 39 FCR kicks ass on modded EX's. Quote

jinx44 Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 The FCR series of carbs are AWESOME. I ran one on my 250x on gas and then on alcohol. Tuning the FCR's can be a bitch, but the end result is worth it. What I mean is you can put them on and they run well, but if you spend the time to tune each circuit and the accel pump, you can find some more power. The 39 would be the best size. The 41 would be overkill. I know FTZ sells quite a few of them for the 400ex's. You could contact them. Quote
knight_ripper Posted March 22, 2004 Author Report Posted March 22, 2004 thanks for your help guys.... he will really appreciate the info.... Hell he's gonna need both bottles to keep up with me....the boost kind...and the whiskey kind.... Cause you gotta be drunk or crazy to think anything can take our banshee's! Quote
