Maxima chain wax dries to a nice protective film..but you have to apply it the night prior. Lithium based lubricants work good..like the lithium spray in a can.

I am a longtime Maxima chain wax fan. I like that stuff a lot, it dries to a nice dry plastic-like coating.

I have just bought my first Honda Pro chain lube and have not used it yet. But I have heard such rave reviews, I feel stupid not to at least try it once.

i seriously use wd40 or any other kind of lubricant. think itll hurt my chain? ive been using that stuff for as long as i remember and have had no problems. i ride in the mud and nasty shit all the time so surely its gettin some abuse.

Does all that oil and wax help sand to stick to your chain? Sand likes to grind chains and can do it in a hurry.Especially with some help from lubricants. If I know I'm heading to the sand pit I wont lube or goop it at all.

the wax dries to a film that is dry and not sticky and makes it harder for stuff to get in there, so the sand doesn't stick to it, where some lubes the sand will stick to it.

I also use WD40 on my chain. Dean Sundahl used it for years racing and winning the Baja 500/1000, and if it is good enough for his race quad, then it will work fine for us duners.

I have used it for many years with good results.
