I haven't tried them yet in sand, I need to wait one more week for that. But they hook up pretty well in snow. The paddles seem to be reinforced well. But I did have a couple of problems with them. They did not include caps on the valve stems and one of the tires went flat after a couple of days due to a leak on the bead. These are minor problems, but they shouldn't have happened. Quote

That's a shitty deal,...I agree that shouldn't have happened. I know they mount them there before they sell them. I had one that leaked on the bead a bit at first, but once the solvent was dried up around the bead it's been fine since. I can't remember if mine came with valve stems or not. But still, for the price; they're a good deal. Quote

PlaynSand Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Im with Led on the turbo paddles , I started to buy the Skat-traks but thought I would try these out , and I am impressed ,they have more bite than a stock bike needs but we will see how they fair with a Passion RE port job. I still like my skate II's for general playing around and running through the trails. The turbo paddles have so much bite it's hard to hold the front end down in the trails and they throw a lot I mean a lot of sand, but it keeps everyone off your tail. Quote
theeechozen1 Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 This last trip out to Gordons I got a pretty good view on some paddles I tried out. I brought my sandstars 20x8 & geckos 21x10, the geckos dont hook up for shit and dont throw a roost unless you sit on the handlebars. The sandstars are excellent and in my eyes I dont see any real big differences between them and the haulers, Keep in mind I have never run any haulers on my bike just them on my buddies bike, but they feel almost the same, lots of forward bite and you need alot of body english to turn sharp at any kind of speed. With the geckos you can flip 180's on hills like nothing, using just throttle, but I was losing holeshots to slowhundred ex's and passing them after the 3rd or 4th big whoop at the hill. The sandstars are cheap I got mine for 158.00 a set on itp's. My buddy had a kings turbo paddle on his KTM 400sx and that sunamabitch threw a roost about 1 inch behind the rear fender, I crossed behind one time and the sand went strait up my helmet and up the nose. sounds like the turbo paddles throw a vertical roost! When I follow my buddies on their atc 250r's I have to watch it or they will cover me in sand. I have 20-10-10 haulers and they throw sand good but they throw it very low to the ground and there is no way you can get any of your buddies with these tires. Quote
