screamingtwin Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 I want to get a extended axle for my banshee but some people said it would handle bad if i don't extend my a-arms. Is this true? Quote
boonman Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Nope. I run stock a-arms for the moment, and a +4 Lonestar axle. Don't buy anything except a lonestar either. Especialy a durabend..... Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 not to mention the durable uses a worthless ass lock nut deal on it. its a pian to get off and mine would alwayswork loose anyway. go with a lonestar for sure. Quote
DUNEDEMON Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 For what it's wort I have a durablue adjustable width X-33 axle with their hubs, bearing carrier, sprocket hub, and "new version" locknut. I ride the bike extremly hard - mostly in the dunes and desert with no trouble what so ever. Perhaps if I were riding on a MX track or doing 60 doubles I would have issues. Bottom line, I say stick with a name brand, and go with what you can afford. Quote
grounded Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 Like wise on the dura blue eliminator, no problems backing off. Feels very stable with stock width front end.- ☼ Quote
BenBB Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 I agree with everyone else about the width-as a matter of fact I think just widening the rear axle alone makes a much bigger improvement in handling than widening the front end. Get the wide axle, you won't regret it. Lonestar is the only axle I've ever used and never had a problem, I would recommend them. I don't have any firsthand experience with Durablue so can't say they suck, but have heard enough horror stories to stick with LSR. Quote
