jstew Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 First of all what is stock gearing? I have a problem pulling sixth gear in the sand. I have basic bolt on stuff pipes, filter, head. Anyways, would a front sprocket swap help me out? I mainly just drag against buddies. Oh yeah, I'll be adding a timing plate and vforce reeds before the trip this year. Will that be enough to make the difference over last year? Later Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 try a 13 front spocket. They are about 10-20 bucks and you can use the stock chain length Quote
BenBB Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 Stock gearing is 14/41, at least on '90 or '91 and up Banshees. Like Leadfoot350 said, try going to a 13-tooth front and see what you think, it should let you start off in 2nd gear and get to use all 6 gears, if you need a little more you can try going smaller on the rear a tooth or two, or if it's geared too short you can try the 14 with a smaller rear (down 1 on front is roughly the same as 3 up on the rear). The reeds and timing should be noticable, but not like a drastic change...every little bit helps tho. Quote
