1_bansheenutt Posted February 8, 2004 Report Share Posted February 8, 2004 I changed my oil today and went riding afterwards, noticing my clutch was slipping. It never did this until I changed to a synthetic oil. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Will the clutch grip with synthetic oils??????? Guess its back to castrol 10-40 for me! 1_bansheenutt Posted February 8, 2004 Author Report Share Posted February 8, 2004 I was wondering man, looks like its back to the old school engine oil, I guess that synthetic is just to darn slick.....I may give that ATF a try, notice any improvements using it? Synthetic oils are great if the proper ones are used , they must be non-friction modified for use with wet clutch applications. The use of automotive oils that are energy conserving or friction modified will cause an early death to your clutch ,synthetic or not.
