Weld the crank indefinatly no butts. Mine just sperated with my set up. and this is what I was running

.40 overbore, Coolhead 19cc race gas needed in low elevation, Ported,K$N,Boyseen reeds,

Trinity 2-1 35pwk, DMC 916, Namura power pistons 14/42 It was a Fn torque monster . I liked it.

general rule, if you port it....you gotta weld it. You're gonna be at that limit that it might start doing something to your crank. It's all up to you whether or not you wanna go into your lower end. Is this the first new top end going on the bottom end after stock.

I'm 40 over, coolhead running 153 psi, pushing somewhere around 55 hp or so and my bottom end was fine when my top end went. I'm running the stock bottom end with this new top end (first after stock) but anything afterward I'm gonna have portwork and such and going to be welding the the bottom end.

Weld it no matter what. Port it while its apart. Around $50 crank weld from jim @ passionre. He does phenominal work. As soon as he gets the crank he'll have it done and shipped out the next day. Know 4- guys to get theirs done there.
