here's that black yfz that everyone was trying to photochop:

A 450R with no fenders.....ugliest lookin thing I've ever seen.

and the best part about the mag, they did the shootout between the yfz, the 450R, and the gas gas and the yamaha beat it at everything. Dragging in they were about the same, but the dyno graph says it all.

On a side note.....in the part where they do the shootout.....theres an ad for NBS distributing, they used to be Recreation Unlimited.....obviously their service is shitty enough that they're trying to change their name and website.....fuckin bastards

First off, I'm sick of them doing all these shootouts and not including the banshee anymore. Yeah, the yfz will beat the 450r and so on, what about a head to head comparison with the original. They know that the banshee was race ready machine (while not the best suspended) long before these newbies, lets see what they'll do. I can understand not including the 250r because its no longer sold, although its a great machine, but the banshee is still being sold new, just like the yfz and 450r.

Sorry, it just irks me how Dirtwheels can just turn their back on something like it was never there. There is still a huge following for these quads, so why not include them.

they did a big issue on the banshee like 2 years ago......I got it laying around here somewhere. It was a pretty good issue....it wasnt a shootout but heck, the banshees already proven to be king, and mod for mod nothing can beat it.

This was the shootout everyones been speculating about, I dont even know why they threw the gas gas in there? It's a good quad and I guess its a worthy component, but everyones looking at the 2 big manufacturers going at it.

I sat on a 450R today for the first time and it feels like your sitting on something inbetween a 250R and a 400ex. The brakes are real tight on it and feel like they'd lock up in the first 1/5th of the pull on them. The seat is a little more comfortable than the yamaha, which is weird to say.

It's still to early to tell which will lead the pack.....that pic of the 450R above won the baja1000 and only 8 bikes finished ahead of it, so who knows who will come out on top when they are all hopped up.

About 1 or 1 1/2 years ago they did a shoot out with about 6 different quads including the Banshee. The YFZ wasn't out yet. In head to head comparisons the banshee was best at making people want one (or something like that) they said that the powerband was second to none and it could be modded to be the fastest VERY EASILY but they were all STOCK.

If I remember correctly the machines were Banshee, DS650, Raptor, Z400, Predator, and the 400EX. The 400EX was pretty much last in every catagory and the Banshee was second in overall speed to the DS650. Also the Banshee won in sand drags to 300ft. (I think thats what it said) The predator was faster than the Z400 (and almost beat the Raptor) but the Z's lap times were far off better than the Predator. But remember, the YFZ wasn't out yet.

The thing is they didn't say to much about the Banshee except what I previously mentioned and that due to EPA regulations it would be on it's way out in the near future.

that black yfz looks really sweet. but how much is it?? prolly like 7500 for the LE. thats rediculous. they are tight and all but man thats a lot for a quad. most ppl end up swapping out everything anyway.

they said its only gonna be like 200 more than the regular ones.

On a side note, when do your dirtwheels magazines come for those that get them?

Mine's the March issue and I'm getting it in January. It usually happens like that and I actually thought I'd of gotten it a few days ago. It usually comes sometime in the last week of the month, but its like a month early.

I would like to take a ride on one. A friend rode one and said it wasn't as strong as he thought it would be, but then, no one believes a word he says. I'd like to try for myself. The clutch pull felt very light on the one in the showroom.

Is the Blaster going out as well, and isn't it the '05 model year to be last?

I got a question. On the pic with the dyno, why does the purple line (gas gas wild 450) drop straight down between the 9 and 10 rpm range?

I agree, the 450r lookes shitty without the fenders. Will you be able to get different plastic like a 250r to change the stupit front end?

I hope 05' isnt the last year for the blaster. That thing is fun as hell to ride or mess around on. Just about all my friends who ride has a blaster so its a popular quad where I live.

That just seems to be where the power drops off at, it looks like a 2 stroke curve. That particulr machine doesn't rev out like the others, and that graph helps you see where the shift point would be.
