shee4202 Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 My cases are split and I'm trying to get the most power out of the motor. I was thinking about trinity's 420 big bore kit. does anybody know anything about this kit? What would be the best big bore kit to go with? Quote
PassionRE Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 You can gain much more usable power in every area going with a stroker over a big bore kit...Jim Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 I had a buddy that had a 420 kit and it over heated all the time. The other problem with them is that you have to put a bigger sleeve in the stock cylinder which makes the transfer ports smaller. I would have to aggree with passion saying that a stroker would get you more power and you will not have to buy a 300 dollar radiator too. Quote
shee4202 Posted January 24, 2004 Author Report Posted January 24, 2004 What would the best way to go to obtain the most power? What is the difference in the power gains between the 4mm, 10mm cranks. Quote
Jeffro Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 I'm in the same boat I sucked a ring and need a crank and top end rebuild. Is it better to get a 4 mm stroker or a long rod set up? Quote

I don't think a long rod setup enhances performance, just reliability. The 4mm stroker would be the way to go for more power. In fact you can mix the two and have the best of both worlds like a Weisco Hot Rods 4mm Long Rod Stroker Crank. Quote
Jeffro Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 if you do that do you have to get special pistons or just whatever you would use on a longrod set-up? What kind of displacement whould that give you? I need to call one of these shops that sells the parts and order it all at once and make sure it all works together... Quote
00BANSHEE Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 Weisco makes a piston for the long rod - 795 series. I suggest either Passion Racing or Patriot Racing to help you out with the stroker kit. just my .02 Quote

Thumper69 Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 i love Trinity but the 420 motors are a little weak, If your willing to spend that much monry y not invest in some cheetah clys? Quote
