jasonsb Posted January 9, 2004 Report Share Posted January 9, 2004 A local Yamaha shop gave me a stock carb slide and needle because I had lost one when I stored my carbs last year. Now, I'm putting the stock carbs back on and I noticed that one of the needles is "way longer" than the other. Is it possible that the needle given to me was a "Toomey needle" or aftermarket?Can I use different length needles without problems? I took the needles completely off and compared the two. One was thinner and way longer.
