Jstrong Posted March 28 Report Posted March 28 Hey guys, I’ve been thinking about building a new motor. right now I currently have a 421 serval. Been enjoying it so far, but the power is starting to grow on me. Now I’m thinking of going bigger lol. I was able to get a good deal on a frame and a motor for 1500. I’m thinking of doing a 443 or a 465 serval. I’m mostly trail ride. Is it necessary to go for 465 or 443 Or is it too much for trail rider? I am thinking of doing 443 trail ported serval ,36 smart carbs, pro mod, straight cut gears, Paul tuner mid or cpi, 20 cc domes on 110 race gas let me know if you guys think Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 29 Report Posted March 29 No sense in doing the 7mm. Just do the 10mm since the cases need trenched. Smart Carbs are junk. Stick with what's proven, Keihin PWK. You'll need CPI, Snipers or Shearers. Quote
SKEETER Posted March 30 Report Posted March 30 Why am I the only idiot thinking a ported correctly 421 serval setup correctly, is plenty for trails? Who the fuck wants shears , 10mm ported serval for trails? Send your 421 to get ported and setup by cam. Put some cpis on it, and save your $ for hookers & blow Quote

I wouldn't even waste the money on a 10mm for trails. My 421 Serval is plenty. Quote
Tedder Posted March 31 Report Posted March 31 I agree that a 421 Serval would be the best choice. Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Some things to factor in when going bigger.. The chances of breaking shit goes way up. Cranks, transmissions, chains, etc.. Literally everything can and will break easier. Quote

I’ve heard alot of people say it’s more than enough but trying to get creative with this build thinking trail/ all terrain set up Edited April 19 by Jstrong Quote
SKEETER Posted April 26 Report Posted April 26 Theres a difference between creative, realistic. Quote
