Travis's Banshee Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Need a little info about aftermarket shifters. I have what I think is a Duncan racing shifter. It was given to me a while ago. It looks like it mounts to the swing arm bolt and has a couple of hiem joints used to hook it to the shifter. The nut used to attach the shifter to the swing arm bolt is sealed in the shifter end and is somewhat snug turning. It is worth the time to install? Quote
Meat Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 thats some sorta linkage shifter, iv never seen one made for the Banshees. Raptors use a linkage shifter, but its not attached anywhere near the swingarm pivot bolt. You gotta post a picture of it, Id love to see it. Quote
boonman Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 I too would love to see such contraptions!!!!!! Quote
tats4life Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 I raced for DR and I have no idea what you be talking about Quote
Travis's Banshee Posted December 31, 2003 Author Report Posted December 31, 2003 My mistake on the manufacturer. Its Denton not Duncan. I'll try to get a pic posted later today. Quote
Oilsmoke Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 the Warrior has on attached to the foot peg. two small ball caps and a small rod setup. Quote
Meat Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Oilsmoke, thats how the Raptors are setup too. Thats how the Rz's are also. My old 230 Quadsport had a linkage style shifter too. Pretty much sucked, I rigged my Quadsport shifter so it mounted directly to the shift shaft. Here's a pic of the Rz shift linkage....... Quote
Oilsmoke Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 A stiff aftermarket Aluminum shifter, I would quess to be the best way for a positive feel from the lever, & with less weight & moving parts to maintain. Thx Meat Great pix I once rode a 550 Suzuki 2 cycle 3 cylinder I was like 16 years old I rev'd fast and hard . Scared the shit out of me ( Smile was damm Big too).what could it of been? Quote
psd1 Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Ill bet ya a dollor to a donut that it isnt for a Banshee! Let's see the picture, cause I am a little curious! OuT Quote
Travis's Banshee Posted January 1, 2004 Author Report Posted January 1, 2004 Heres the pic of the shifter. Its loosely threaded in place. Looks like there is clearance issues w/the mag/countershaft sprocket cover, but definitly fits. Quote
Travis's Banshee Posted January 2, 2004 Author Report Posted January 2, 2004 Heres the pic. Better late than never. Quote
InFlames Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I have the Pro Design power shifter and I like it very much. I have rode a few shees with the stock shifter and I find it hard to get used to that tiney little nob thats hard to find. lol. A size 13 boot dosent help any either Either way I still get lazy shifting.. Quote
Travis's Banshee Posted January 11, 2004 Author Report Posted January 11, 2004 Wanted to bump this and see if I could get some more input after I posted the pic. Thanks Quote
Meat Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Thats pretty wild, i never seen anything like it. Those linkage systems are nice cause you adjust it infinitly to fine tune it. I see on your that you can also shorten\extend the toe peice. Give it a try and a review. Quote
boonman Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Doesn't look like a Denton product to me. Looks like some backyard engineered some type of managerie. Quote
