bignasty1 Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 i am having a lil dificulty with my seat cover is there a secret to getting them on correctly? (no wrinkles) would it help to heat it up a bit to maybe make it easier to stretch? any help is better than none so thanks. Quote
ripinlips Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 I know this isn't what you want to hear but I had to take mine to an upholstery shop. He only charged me $15 though. Took less than 10 min. Kind of pissed me off. Quote
Banchetta Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 I did the front, then the rear, then pulled the sides down. Just make sure you are centered... I used a staple gun. Took me 10 minutes and it hasn't pulled apart in 5 years...I got mine from Cascade Innovations......They did an awesome job...Highly recommend them..... Quote
BenBB Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 If it doesn't cost too much, a local upholstery shop is the way to go. I did mine and it took about 800 staples and an hour of fighting with it... But yeah the best thing to do is lay it in the sun for an hour or two to let it stretch easier, if it's too cold outside you might try throwing it in the drier (at your own risk). You'll need the short staples, like 1/4", and although a hand-held stapler will work, it'll be ALOT easier with a pnuematic. Like Banchetta said, put a couple staples in the back, stretch the front and put in a couple, and then stretch each side and nail it. Then it's just a matter of pulling out the wrinkles and putting in more staples. Good luck. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 do it front to back doing the sides to keep the wrinkles out, i learned the hard way, took me 2 people and a staplegun from hell, you shouletn have a problem with warming it up stretching it and stapeling, just dont get pissed and start puttin 100000 staples in it Quote

Banchetta Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Sorry to hear about your grandpa Big.......vent away...we are here for ya....... Next time, get a cover from cascade. They make a lip on the front of the cover so you hook the front on the seat and staple the back, then sides, simple as hell and did it by myself. Didn't realize how lucky I was I guess after hearing everyone else's experience, but from what I hear on here, the cascade cover must be the easiest to install............ Quote
