Clutch Cushions

So Is removing the Clutch Cushions good or bad idea?

Any body try this? if so what was the results?

with a stock clutch kit (yamaha) u keep them, aftermarket (barnett,toomey,ect.) u don't use them

what is the clutch cushions? where are they located? i am in the process of changing my clutch to a TUSK. all new fibers, plates, and springs, what do these cushions look like?

The cushions (O-rings on clutch) are supposed to keep the clutch from chattering but you don't need them. I have never used them and haven't heard anything.

I'm SO glad you asked this question...I was planning on changing out my clutch tomorrow and was worried about those O-rings, half of them were cracked and broken and I didn't want to have to use them. Thanks!

I just remove them and added 3 toomey HD springs. I useing a short level But i am going to need a Long one. It's Stiffer than a 17 year old his first time.

K&T performance told me that they were not necessary, even with the stock clutch. But know that some on said somthing about clutch chater, Im wondering if that is the same rattle that im hearing that is driving me insane!! It only at idle though, and if it is in "N".

I just installed the tusk and left the cushions in and havn't had any problems. I figure they are there for a reason might as well use them. No strange noises coming from my bike. Later

Like Sandrocket said. Kim Muchmore told me removes the cushions because they can hang and make the Shee slip, Add 3 toomey springs and if it still slips get the toomey clutch.

If those heavy duty springs are too much you can increase the tension by putting a washer between the bolt and stock spring, adds a little more but doesn't hurt the hand as much.

Oily, get yerself one of them EZ-pull clutch levers. They work great.

Good idea I never thought about that on the clutch. I used that on my popoff value

to increase Boost presure. But with the washer Coil bind does come sooner and you will lose some presure plate travel. I'll look at it if need something else for the clutch.

Check your kick starter i bet it's that. tons of banshee owners including myself have this problem and its a pain in the ass. My kicker is grinding my clutch cover pretty good lol.

YEAH, i F'in hate that noise!!!!! people look at me like ive got some broke ass shit and i couldnt figure out why. if that its ill be soo glad, cause i always thought it was my pipes.
