wheeleymaster99 Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 anyone got an idea what mine whould have i piasted this befor but no one really answered me question Quote
94BansheeRider Posted December 15, 2003 Author Report Posted December 15, 2003 Just as a note: The lid that is on my airbox is one of those K&N Xstream filters. It takes the place of the stock lid. It's like one big flat K&N filter that uses the airbox clamps to hold it on. Then the primary filter is still inside the airbox. I have no precharger on either one. It doesn't seem like the filter lid would be anymore restrictive than putting an outerwear on the primary filter and running no lid. Does this sound right ? Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I agree. You already have the single K&n so you could either get a outerwear for that or get two K&N's with outerwears. The choice is up to you but either of those are better than the lid on. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Justintoxicated: Thanks for the info. I will leave it as is for Glamis, and rejet when I get home with no lid. Is that Ray Liotta in your avatar? I didn't know you had a special air box lid, that changes things, i have never sceen that lid do you have a link? The precharger helps keep the larger crap from sticking and clogging up your K&N, but I don't know now that you say your using a different lid. The guy in my avitar from office space when he beats up the fax machine, but I don't know his real name. Quote
94BansheeRider Posted December 15, 2003 Author Report Posted December 15, 2003 Here is a link for the lid http://www.jmcracing.com.au/site/details.c...roductIDNum=321 Quote
eehsnab2 Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Hey Peter check out channel 9... Quote
Justintoxicated Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 thanks for the link, looks interesting. Im guessing it is more restrictive than a precharger, but only testing could tell it might be a large enough area that it isnt restrictive, but then again, iot might be as restrictive as running 2 K&N on top of eachother. . Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I would say that the lid is more restrictive. It looks to be made of the same material the filter is made of. If they made an outerwear material lid I would think that it would be about the same. But that would kind of almost be the same as running a K&N filter inside another one. I know they make the outerwear lids for 400EX's and such.....havent seen one for a banshee. Quote
