DMC 916 sound ugly

Hi, bought a set of DMC 916 used and its sound like straight shit. Found that the muffler is empty inside. Can i do something about that? Find some baffel and try to fit them with packing in there?

So it sounds like shit because of no packing...

 

I believe you can use R19 home insulation

So, no steel perforated cores in there either? Would need to contact DMC for replacement parts.

There are a few common items guys will use to pack them. Lots of folks are using fiber glass insulation. It’s short lived, but quiet and cheap. Then there is the actual Two stroke fiber packing, it’s quiet, sounds ok, and lives a long life, but it’s expensive. Then there is good ol’ fashioned steel wool. It’s cheap, sounds awesome, but it can spark and isn’t very quiet.

Ive always been told to use the stainless steel wool
