ZillaFreak Posted December 6, 2018 Report Posted December 6, 2018 SO was looking at wiseco pistons last night. I see they have 2 numbers for a stock banshee. 513 is stock replacement 842 is stock replacement with hard coat annodize. My question, has anyone used a 842 series yet? Any info on them? Quote

97Screamer Posted December 6, 2018 Report Posted December 6, 2018 I also didn't know this was an option with Wiesco. I've been running coated wossner pistons for years though and have been happy. For wossner, the coating has a moly additive and provides decreased friction and tolerances. I'd imagine wiesco is similar and not just hard anodized.Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk Quote
ZillaFreak Posted December 6, 2018 Author Report Posted December 6, 2018 Ya, just trying to more info on them. On wiseco's site (http://www.wiseco.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ItemID=842M06400&ModelID=445&ModelYear=2002&AppID=360) claims they are hard coat annodize. HP series. Here they are electracoated https://www.wiseco.com/Catalogs/Powersports/Yamaha.pdf Found out electracoated does "Eliminates ring and piston pin scuffing for increased life and added performance" https://www.wiseco.com/PDFs/Wiseco-ArcticCat1000EFIPistons.pdf Just trying to find out more info and worth the extra price. sheerider11 Posted December 6, 2018 Report Posted December 6, 2018 Here are 2 pistons out of my yfz.The first has about 20 hours on it. The intake side has the majority of the peeling. The exhaust has almost 0The 2nd has about 6 hours but had a issue and the motor was pumping oil all through it. The guy that does my 450 engines has me replacing pistons every 20-40 hours. Wiseco less. He doesn't like them at all. Now I have a JE in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk Quote
ZillaFreak Posted December 6, 2018 Author Report Posted December 6, 2018 The 4835 series has Armor Glide skirt coating. Different than the electracoated on the piston I am asking about, or so I am thinking. Quote
