Damann Posted August 17, 2018 Report Posted August 17, 2018 Can you port cheap $100 ebay jugs? Prob is my sticker are at 64.45 (piston).. not worth paying for a port job if this rebuild I will be at 66mm. Right? Jugs are done need resleved.. how much does it usually cost to resleve? Quote
Damann Posted August 17, 2018 Author Report Posted August 17, 2018 I ment stock piston are at 65.45mm Quote
97Screamer Posted August 17, 2018 Report Posted August 17, 2018 Buy smaller bore stock jugs and have them bored and ported. I agree with you its a waste to port 66mm cylinders but its also a waste to port junk cylinders. For around $100 you should be able to find an oem set that need a bore. Quote
Damann Posted August 17, 2018 Author Report Posted August 17, 2018 Yea, I thought so too on finding a stock set for $100.. eBay has everyone on fb and craigslist taxing $200 and up for a set of jugs.. Quote
Damann Posted August 17, 2018 Author Report Posted August 17, 2018 I think, I'm going to try to just do an intake clean up on cheap shit and run them until they blow, until I can find a set to ship off and have ported and re-bored Quote
Damann Posted August 17, 2018 Author Report Posted August 17, 2018 Has anyone ever ran cheap Namura piston kit? What is to expect? How long of life? What compression? Quote

Running the cheap jugs is fine assuming you're lucky enough to get a set where the head studs line up and the two cylinders are level enough you can get the head/base to seal. Don't run the cheap pistons, not worth it. When (not if) they go you're risking your good crank, cases, stator etc... I have a left stock bore oem jug if you can find a right lol. I see sets needing a bore selling every week on Fb, just gotta jump on them when you see a deal or someone else will. Quote
sleeper06 Posted August 18, 2018 Report Posted August 18, 2018 I don’t think $200 is that bad on the right set of stockers. Quote
Damann Posted August 18, 2018 Author Report Posted August 18, 2018 Awesome, good to hear. I figured I'd get bottom end with new crank sealed and be piston shopping. Save the cheapies jugs/pistons for a quick fix n flip bike. So shelf the Namura kit it is. Thanks Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted August 18, 2018 Report Posted August 18, 2018 it took me a over year to sell a set of stockers that I bored to new pistons and cleaned up the porting for $200. The junk ass Chinese cylinders that come with stripped holes, unlevel ports, unchamfered ports, soft ass steel sleeve have ruined the market. Quote
Damann Posted August 18, 2018 Author Report Posted August 18, 2018 Just got lucky and found a set of OEM 64mm used for $100 bill. Not $400 Quote
Damann Posted August 18, 2018 Author Report Posted August 18, 2018 metal was better in older cars, should be better in a 30yr old banshee jug.. agree too much foreign cheap shit out there Quote

Damann Posted August 19, 2018 Author Report Posted August 19, 2018 What do you mean? Cheap jugs are better then OEM or can be? Do you think cheap $100 ebay jugs and piston can hold up to basic mods and last as long as an OEM jug? I don't think a pro bike builder would even port an ebay cylinder, correct me if I'm wrong? I have both and would like to use the cheap set one day for something Quote
