clutch basket replace ?

there's a fiber piece between my factory basket and p gear ( not the cushions) it's a thin washer like fiber w/ cutouts where the basket hub bosses go threw... do after market baskets need this to b put back in or only used w/ factory basket (1 didn't come in chariot kit)
