nmrichardson Posted April 29, 2017 Report Posted April 29, 2017 Hi all I was told today that you can not mix and match top and bottom crank cases They have to be used in matched pairs ? Any truth in this ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They are machined as a pair when manufactured. I think you might be able to use mismatched cases but I would be very cautious when doing so. Assemble and make sure everything fits nicely, then slowly tightened things down as a dry fit while making sure everything rotates freely until completely secured and torqued. I would recommend a matched set, but if you have to use a mis matched set, this is how I would proceed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4 Quote
special06shee Posted April 29, 2017 Report Posted April 29, 2017 Spurdy nailed it. Mix matched cases are running around everywhere and 99% of the time just as reliable as matching cases. 1 Quote
sheerider11 Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Had a motor that had them, ran great. Another motor, not so much. It's 50/50 working out. I bet cases made within the same year will work 1 Quote
