nastyracing Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 What's everyone using for chains on their drag bikes ? Strongest chain I can find non oring is the Regina gold non oring drag chain , can also find ybn gold non oring chains with a tensil strength of 8000 I believe these are the ones driveline sells. BANSHEE HP Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 weve been using the ybn chains for years on 100-120hp engines without issue Quote
RadarRacing Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 The rating on most of those chains is plenty strong for almost any normal drag bike. The driveline one is on at least a few 10 mil DMs , the DID, EK, RK have many users and hold up fine when the frame, motor, and swingarm are solid. FAST sells a bulk chain by the foot that is good and not much money per foot. Some of the strongest chains can be the first to break due to shock. Get something 7800lb or more and keep it oiled well. I have broke a chain but only when the motor was tweaking and you could feel the chain jerk under a hard load when it got sandy. That wasnt the chains fault. Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 I get mine from Redline. It holds up to 170HP just fine. Most of the time, the chain isn't the issue. Quote

sleeper06 Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Hey bud that things making power for sure , either strut the motor in place like we do the swingers , or get a stator cover that works with that adapter from jds . Correct me if I'm wrong this only occurred after loading the lockout down with weight rite Quote
nastyracing Posted June 6, 2016 Author Report Posted June 6, 2016 Motor was twisting in other chassis , pulled out put in a lightened stock chassis with all the same bearing supports . Chain snapped when I finally loaded clutch up with a significant amount of spring rate to get on bar . I have since gone Regina drag chain couldn't be happier stretch once set it and forget it , like all the rest of their chains I've used . I see a whole lot of people using ybn chains is why I asked I can't fathom how a 30$ chain is holding hp most likely put one in Stock as a spare . 1 Quote
