knelson Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 I'm done in the garage for the night, going to pull a fuel sample tomorrow. If he forgot to mix his fucking gas he deserves it, and it won't happen again (hopefully he's not that dumb, right?) Quote
sheerider11 Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Holy shit. Are you sure the jetting was right? I'd really check that fuel. And ask him how he mixed it. He may have done it and made 500:1 ratio Quote
knelson Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 34 pjs cel mid clip,165 main 50 pilot , choke out 4, air screw 1 turn. He's running t-6's on it....yea I know Quote
n2otoofast4u Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 So let me get this straight............... He buys from a site sponsor. Clearly didn't have something correct. Now he's gonna buy from Ebay. You say FAST All the while the original sponsor provided what was asked for, yet won't get the second sale because of stupidity??????? Noted! Quote
knelson Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Only one I have personally ever used, Only reason I stated him. I have no alterior motives I promise. He isn't on here I asked him. I guess he heard about builder from others or found him on web search Edited April 21, 2016 by knelson Quote
n2otoofast4u Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Regardless, I'd have a REALLY hard time putting and blame or disbelief in the builder. Quote
sheerider11 Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Something isn't adding up. Either him, or you aren't saying the whole deal. Quote
knelson Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 He was going to hurrily buy kit on ebay tonight and I told him not to It would be wise to have a set of experienced eyes go over new cylinders and some kind of casting clean up. Builder won't lose second sell and will get first option unless it is cheaper or equal to cost from builder I have experience with's posted price on website, nothing more. I will post pic of fuel sample, I just want to find the Issue and fix it... Quote
sheerider11 Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Pics of fuel won't do any good. Yama lube is dark as hell. One teaspoon in a 5 gallon jug will turn it dark blue. Quote
knelson Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 well then I guess you guys helped diagnose it. lack of lube it is and I get to call and tell the builder what had happened tomorrow. Guess I could email pics tonight. Also probably should go through the brand new pj carbs again and recheck float height, jetting,etc... and dump fuel Quote
knelson Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Something isn't adding up. Either him, or you aren't saying the whole deal. What Part isn't adding up? I am pretty sure at this point it is his fault, he picked it up on the 4/10 and said he rode 23 miles and it ran great. 4/12 he sends me a pick of a broken tierod out riding.4/16 he asks me to help rejet cause it's bogging. I tell him to swap plugs, he says they are blackish 4/18 he brings it back over 4/20 I finally get to disassemble and here we are.. I guess I am the dumb one for not figuring out lack of lube and even questioning the build. Although upset he was pretty quick to want to buy replacement as cheap as possible and not place blame..maybe he knows he's at fault and isn't telling me Edited April 21, 2016 by knelson 1 Quote
sleeper06 Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Is the little pin still in the the piston that locates the ring Quote
Larry's Shee Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Can't see well enough on this tablet, but is that normal/usual amount of chamfer on ex port ? Is bad piston from dome with less carbon ? If it was fuel mix why is one piston worn considerably more? Was this builder assembled ? Leakdown tested before running ? Tested before disassembly? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Tell your buddy to learn how to mix fuel. Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 ring end gap checked ever? what was the piston to bore clearance? Quote
