My banshee sounds like it's going full throttle help!

I was out for a long ride I was going fast for a long period of time and all of a sudden it starting going full throttle when I stopped in nuteral it kept doing the same thing loud what did I do did it blow up or how do I fix it thanks guys

leaned it out . probably toast. id do a compression test but i got a feeling you might just start tearing it down. they're not designed to be held wot for long periods of time without proper jetting.

I found the air leak the cap on the carb was off and I put it back on

Would it run back to normal since I fixed the air leak

Yes. I would do a compression test to be safe.

As said, check your compression. See if spark plugs are still tight. Plugs will tend to back out in dangerously lean conditions

With a runaway engine hold brake, shift into 2nd or higher, dump clutch.

It depends if you didn't do any damage while the cap was loose, as suggested be certain and a compression test to be sure!

Mike seen first hand what a loose cap can cause, he watched a brand new 4 mill motor eat itself from a carb top problem

Sad but true! Maybe 10 min on the motor, video taped him going WOT, and in less than 5 min a brand new 4mil just built ate itself up!
