mtsnieg Posted November 30, 2015 Author Report Posted November 30, 2015 I'm pretty sure they are helical cut gears. Quote
sheerider11 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Most likely they are. I've come across one used bike that had straight cuts. Far and few between do people re pl ace them with straight cuts Quote
mtsnieg Posted November 30, 2015 Author Report Posted November 30, 2015 Definitely helical So how do I seal up the keyway? Sent from my C6730 using Tapatalk Quote
sheerider11 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Remove the primary shit clean it all up really good with some sort of degreaser and load up the key with 1211 or hondabond. Reassemble. Your going to have to pull the basket. It will just make shit easier. I'm sure you can sit there and prob work the primary gear free. But the time spent trying to do that you can just pull the basket. Quote
mtsnieg Posted November 30, 2015 Author Report Posted November 30, 2015 Have to put sealant on the keyway, huh? Says nothing about that in the manual, probably why I didn't do that. I will seal it up this afternoon and re-test. Thanks again. Quote
mtsnieg Posted November 30, 2015 Author Report Posted November 30, 2015 Mhoksch, I live on Okauchee lake, so we run alot there. Couple a buddies on quads. Mostly for fun, mostly run road course style tracks. Quote
lil Doobie420 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 let the sealent set up before u test it. Quote
mtsnieg Posted November 30, 2015 Author Report Posted November 30, 2015 I will be using Yamabond4 and will let it set up for a good hour before I test it. Gives me some time to fatten up the mains while waiting. Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 It has to set up over night. Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Lol an hour Haha, things are starting to make more sense. Quote
n2otoofast4u Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 FFS.... clean the key way up, goop the shit out of it, re-assemble, wait 24hrs, go ride. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. Quote
mtsnieg Posted November 30, 2015 Author Report Posted November 30, 2015 Ya, I will definitely let it set overnight before re testing and assembly. Quote
RadarRacing Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 That would be where your slight leak is coming from. Since you have it apart seal it, otherwise 6 lbs held for even a minute is a passing leakdown test to me. It wont effect your jetting or motor enough to worry about at all. You can even just yamabond the back of the washer and nut and call it good without taking the gear/basket etc off. It will be fine. Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Tyler u have no idea how many idiots can't grasp the concept of letting shit dry, then add cold weather. I sit there laughing to myself after shit still leaks 1 Quote
