J-Madd Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 That's odd. There should normally be a corresponding dent in the piston and usually embedded material in the piston. Are you missing any circlips? I wouldn't be too quick to put it all together until you found out what was in there. Quote
quickbansheeman Posted November 4, 2015 Author Report Posted November 4, 2015 Im going to further investigate tonight to see what was it, I'm going to drain the oil and check the crank to make sure it didn't fall in there, I'm not missing anything, I checked, even my piston rings are in tack. Could it of probably been left over material from the port? Quote
bigweav81 Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 I'd hope not. sent from yo mammy house. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 The oil is from the transmission side of the case. It's totally sealed off from the crank case. The crank is lubed solely on fuel/oil/air mix as it enters the motor as a vapor. Quote

Ok good to know, i went through it thoroughly and couldn't find any piece of metal, piston rings are in tack, I really appreciate the help guys. Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 Those marks don't bother me so much , that just shows the lack of blending on the chamfer job . If there v force 2s make sure all the little screws are still there . And get oring kit from fast racing with viton dome rings Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 That cylinder also looks glazed over , if you know where you started at for compression when build was new you can compare numbers . I usually re ring/hone if it drops 5-7 psi or differs side to side. Coolant is harsh on parts make sure your skirts arnt collapsed Quote
oldskool Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 If you have pipe off, shake it around and see if anything falls out. Sometimes a piece will exit the cylinder through exhaust port. Sonething caused that dent in dome, I would be concerned until I found out what. Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 Dec be concerned, check reed screws if have that type , I do find that domes will tend to scar easier than Pistons dependi on situation like old school stated see if culprit is still in pipe Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 Did you check the big end rod bearing ? Need to get magnifying glass check roller bearings for putting and wear Quote
quickbansheeman Posted November 5, 2015 Author Report Posted November 5, 2015 Im going to take the other cylinder odd and double check in the crank when I get off work tonight. I have the vforce 3 reeds, just took the cylinder to get honed. I should of dumped all the fluid I had in the exhaust to check if it was on there Quote
quickbansheeman Posted November 5, 2015 Author Report Posted November 5, 2015 I already ordered a new dome from wicked, He knew the squish on it already. Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 How long ago was this thing ported Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 Those cylinders look terrible for month old engine maybe pics but I would have someone measure those Pistons and make sure skirts arnt collapsed if you have questions how to do it pm me for cell Quote
