Surfrjag Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 intake port wont do a whole lot but I guess its a good start... do you understand port time and blow down? Quote
Hudson1021 Posted September 25, 2015 Author Report Posted September 25, 2015 Reading and learning. But no. The top is ported out too. Just no photo... Seemed like there was decent gains for what I could feel Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
Hudson1021 Posted September 25, 2015 Author Report Posted September 25, 2015 Top meaning head side of cylinder. Sorry for lack of proper vernacular Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
registered user Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 buy a few junk cylinders to practice grinding. they can be any type of cylinder. just look for blown up junk of ebay or local classifieds. if youve done a few engines already it doesnt hurt to have even more practice. hind sight is always 20/20 but if you do this youll end up with less mistakes on your good cylinders Quote
Hudson1021 Posted September 25, 2015 Author Report Posted September 25, 2015 I wish I had a pic of the top portion. But it's already put back together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
bigweav81 Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 What durations did you end up with? Degree wheel, or you cut into it blindly? Pics don't mean much. Seems like everyone who posts a dyi port job just post pics of intakes. sent from yo mammy house. Quote
tfaith08 Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Intakes look good enough, but that's largely unimportant.. Transfer shaping is very important, as well as durations. Power hides in the transfers. This subject can go on for weeks and never exhaust everything. It's best to do your own research and define the intended end-state. If that goal is pretty high, you may want to find a builder because the odds that you hit the mark on the first go are very much against you.But since you have it together, that's pretty useless info. registered user Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 in old engines like these that date back to the 70's theres hidden power all over the place. some of it is right in plain sight but the majority of people are oblivious to it. even simple shit like reducing friction loss in a couple areas has measurable power increase if the intake was largely unimportant then so to would be the reedvalve Quote
