Can I use 80w90 gear oil?

So I had my clutch side apart due to no shifting. It sat dry for a couple days till I had time to fix it. Didn't have any belray so I just put 80w90 gear oil in so it didn't stay dry. Is that Ok to do if I'm not running the bike?

Its never good to switch oils. I always stick with 10_30 or type f tranny fluid. Think about ot it soakes into the clutches.

I use 20 50 motorcycle oil since its made for wet clutchs but if you use the type f fluid and ride hard it glazes clutch plates if not changed offen

I think the atf grabs harder. But yea u do have to change it more often. Better for play\drag bikes imo.

What im sayin is why not get the same shit ur gonna run. I dont think its a good idea to let the clutchs soak up 80-90 then run somthing diffrent. Same withe two stroke oil.

I use Rotella in the clutch side, and ran it in both sides of my Hondas, and I use it in my truck and Jeep
