The guy I bought it from said he spent over $10,000 on this bike. Not much is stock on it. He was sorta a friend of the family. He makes good money and don't think he's a liar. But he isn't the guy who built it. He pays someone. I like trying myself. I got the bike for $2000. It's been in his barn for 2 years ran maybe 2 or 3 times a year. I'm thinking carbs maybe. I haven't done A leak down test yet to be honest. But bike was running like complete shit. I pulled the carbs off and cleaned them. Put back together and it ran great. It still runs OK once at op temp but still runs better on one side than the other. Is it normal to have more pressure from exhaust on one side than the other. One side seems to run perfectly. No so much the other side. And when I run full tilt for 10 seconds and let off the throttle the rpms stay up for some reason. She don't wanna stop. Could that have anything to possibly do with bad plug caps? Maybe the plugs are too hot? I'm running br8es ngk plugs. Maybe different plugs may help?[emoji29] Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk

Just curious if anyone knows why my bike shoots flames when i rev at idle but only one cylinder. Other cylinder idles nice. Sounds good. Flame side doesn't idle quite as nice. Right side shoots flames. Not big ones. Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk

When I'm on asphalt it rips me side to side sorta violently. I'm assuming because of the camber. But have no clue how to fix it.

I bought it like this. Its fully adjustable...just don't know how yet. Still figuring this bike out. So far have been able to fix all the issues without really spend no money. Couple litres of oil can of carb cleaner. I think my air leak was loose screw's on the reeds. I really took my time putting it all back together and it turned out perfect. I'm now looking for some nice headlights and a taillight.

I'm in Canada dude. Is there a benefit to have that shifter? What's a gear slammer?

They are called wet clutches aren't they? So your assume keeping them wet would be better than keeping them dry? This is my first banshee. Trying to do all the work myself. Had a shifting issue. Fixed that. Bike ran like shit. Would mostly run on one cylinder. Got that fixed up. Got some good oil for clutch side. Runs better than its even ran...had it out for 5 min...then realized my gear shifter is stripped! Frig! Non stop. But it will be ready soon. Buying a new shifter this week from Yamaha.

I'm going to get the proper oil now. Won't run it with the gear oil. Just don't want to leave the clutches dry. I like belray gear saver. Never had a problem with it.

So I had my clutch side apart due to no shifting. It sat dry for a couple days till I had time to fix it. Didn't have any belray so I just put 80w90 gear oil in so it didn't stay dry. Is that Ok to do if I'm not running the bike?

I'm sending the bike to my buddies shop. Too complicated for me. I'm more of a hands on guy. I'll watch him do it. Then I'll know how. Apparently the banshee has a known issue of shift shaft problems. There's a place called f.a.s.t in Kentucky that sells a kit that fixes that problem. Definitely gonna order it tomorrow along with a gasket kit. Smaller jets. Thanks for all the help guys.

So I pulled the carbs off and cleaned them. Now right cylinder won't fire properly. It does run. But not very well. And I noticed an oil leak from the shift spline...after I went riding for a Lil bit...now my bike won't down shift. Only will shift from 5th to 6th or vice versa

So I pulled off my seat and noticed my left carb was wet looking. Almost looks like it's coming from the choke. Maybe that has something to do with it?

How would I do a leak test? Someone else told me could be an air leak aswell

What are slides? Sorry. I know some but not lots about these bikes. I usually pay someone to tinker with my toys. Lately I've been trying myself. Is it easy to remove the carbs?

No didn't hit water. Running her in my back field. Cables are new. But the carb is likely pretty dirty. I just got her. Its also got a 330 main jet. Not sure if that has anything to do with it

So I was out ripping and for some reason when I was shifting to third gear my bike went in neutral and revved up really high with no throttle. And stayed high till I shut the engine off. Wtf. Why is this happening. It happened 3 times to me. Once even when I hit the kill switch she didn't want to shut down. Sounds like she wanted to blow up. After I shut the bike off. She started first kick. Ran fine. Anyone know what this issue is from?
