Sway bar material

Hey guys new to the fourm and wanting to get Ito flat track. I'm a machinist and have any cnc/manual lathe/ mill at my disposal. I was just wondering what you Guys are making that actual sway bar out of. And where you guys are mounting them. Thanks for any help in advance

As a machinist, I'm assuming you have some grasp of metallurgy. Look for something known for high tensile and memory. That said, I'm not sure what my Rath's torsion bar is made of, but I think with a little research, you could find a nice piece of bar stock. For the same of ease, use something that has an outer diameter that fits inside a metal/carbon fiber tube. Mounting can be done any where, but IMO the lower the better if you're fabbing it. Guys are using the A arm bolt holes with brackets for the tube.

Yeah that's what I was thinking but what diameter are you guys using. What kind of mounts are you using soild to the frame or like a polyurethane bushing type mount like a car

4130 will be fine, tube would be better than solid, od.and thickness is down to each set up and driver style.Make it in a way so it is easy to swap for a different spec one without having to rebuild the whole system.

On my quads I used sway bar arms from a 99 zrt 800 sled with the plastic bushings from it also. I used 5/8ths square shaft and it works perfect.

It mounts off the back of the upper front control arm bolt and the front of the lower control arm bolt
