hondaracing02 Posted April 1, 2015 Report Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) So my Push lever on my 03 Banshee popped up and bent the retainer clip when I was riding and is now slightly corked, (ATTACHED PIC). I tore into the clutch side cover when i got my new push lever. Behind the clutch pressure plate, theres the lifter thing (attached pic) and the push rod ball was froze to it, and the push rod behind it doesnt move when i press on it with a screwdriver? how do i get the push rod out to replace it, some kind of magnet to pull it out or what?? and whats the lifter piece? please see the pics and the issues Im having will be better explained.. I also attached a pic of what the nut for the clutch adjustment looked like, isnt this way out of alignment? could this have caused the push lever to pop out? Thanks for all the help Edited April 1, 2015 by hondaracing02 1 Quote

sheerider11 Posted April 1, 2015 Report Posted April 1, 2015 Nice! May need a new rack of gears. Or you can replace just the shaft. Your call if you want to pull the trans that apart. Get a pancake bearing. There made to stop exactly that. Quote
hondaracing02 Posted April 1, 2015 Author Report Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) id like to do whatevers easier. by shaft do you mean push rod shaft? shouldnt that normally just slide out? and whats a pancake bearing? Edited April 1, 2015 by hondaracing02 Quote
oldskool Posted April 1, 2015 Report Posted April 1, 2015 Will the rod move any, up down side to side? Quote
registered user Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) a ball is a poor design. even honda used it way back 30yrs ago or so. eventually they wised up and implemented a pancake setup. i suggest you do the same. matter of fact im using honda setup in my banshee. dont tell nobody though Edited April 2, 2015 by registered user Quote
sheerider11 Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 Or you could be slick and use a ceramic ball bearing. Quote
hondaracing02 Posted April 2, 2015 Author Report Posted April 2, 2015 the push rod doesnt move at all, no. I want to sell the banshee, so cheapest into it would be best. but want it to hold up. How do I get that rod out of there? to replace rod and pancake bearing or what not. Quote
