Larry's Shee Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 How do you know it was water vapor coming from cyl/plug hole ?? If it is truly a low hour rig you have two choices, ride as is or go all out, to an extent. As mentioned, sending off for porting this time of year, depending where you live, might not be back in time for spring riding. You would have to call to see what lead time is right now, then decide. Even porting or head mod/ cool head/domes should get welded crank. As mentioned, there is no easier case to split than a banshee. Quote
Gumball12 Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 Not sure what vapor was. I assumed it was water and was quick to type. I have never delt with a twin before other than a car but the more I think about it it could have been position of piston in the left side. i did not get a smell. New bike very curious. I am one not to leave things alone. Compression is 130psi and 128psi so we should be good for the season. She runs good now. I have a new reed cage and reeds coming, twin filters, TORS delete with screw and twist (thumb it too awkward for me), a few more jet sizes, tires. Its got pipes now (pro circuit) I will take the advice and wait for the season to come and go. Take it down and bend over. What else is recommended? I was thinking to advance timing? Quote
