Guar777 Posted February 11, 2015 Author Report Posted February 11, 2015 U don't want to machine them 100% smooth body.. Why's that? Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 JT prefers them ribbed for his pleasure 1 Quote
m671054 Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 I just had some rebuilt and shaved at mss. I guess i had a ding in a shaft also. Cost 250 or so and the machine work is not the quality i was expecting. your almost better off to sell and buy new. Quote
wfobasheeboy Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 Yes let's see pic of that machine work. Quote
m671054 Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 you can see and feel the step. I was expecting a seamless transition. Maybe i expect to much? Quote
m671054 Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 smooth transition on upper Not machined far enough on lower Quote
m671054 Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Right side upper is worse than lower sorry first pics were so dark. They charged like 120 to turn both shocks down. Is this what is to be expected at that price? Quote
JTmachining Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 So u wanted .060 more machined top n bottom? These are not Ez to work hold n machine. I'd charge a lot more. Quote
m671054 Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 I would have been fine with it if they were all the same. It would of only taken an extra minute to cut that last little bit. I shouldn't have to rework something that i paid someone else to do. Dont get me wrong, for service times and rebuild pricing they are right on. Tim is a good guy to talk to on the phone. I have a set getting rebuilt right now as a matter of fact. All i wanted to point out was the quality of work on removing ribs was sub par in my experience. I would look elsewhere for that. It should be noted that i have never contacted him about it. I feel that he is aware of the product he shipped out. I'm just stating what happened in my situation. It could very well be a one time issue on 2 shocks. Quote
JTmachining Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 So only one MSS has the machined ledge? Or both? Hit Tim up if u are not happy. Quote
m671054 Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 One has a step at the bottom. The other has steps on both ends. The top is more apparent than the bottom. I think i can smooth it out when i re polish them. its just work i did not plan on having to do after paying for it Quote
