Blaster was not a disaster great kids quad half the price of a banshee and almost bulletproof. Taught both of my kids how to shift on the blaster.

They didn't. You had to add those later because of the junk Suzuki aluminum.

Not much to know,,except they're pretty junky in comparison to Yamaha and Honda quads.

Not really thin,so much as just poor quality aluminum.

Cant say I ever heard anything about the quality of the metal. I do know that the casting is to thin. I wish they made that bike longer and ironed out those problems. I like mine alot

My cousin has a Zilla, he just got it together and I got to ride it today. Matt Shearer built the motor and he has the Dr Q pipe on it. Thing is a TQ monster. Sounds badass and fun to ride, it's a big bike

My 87 zilla is a beast. It's built right with reinforced ears, oringed head, aaen pipe etc. getting parts is so hard though I keep thinking of selling it but just can't do it.

I had an 87 with all the goodies. Ported, 44mm carb, race fuel, all reinforcements, o ringed head with larger studs,,whole 9yds. It had good TQ, but my drag ported 350 on stock alky converted carbs could spank it in a drag race,,all while being infinitely more reliable. The lt500 did ride better though.

for the most part thats why i gave up on them big singles and figured i would give the banshee a go. them big engines never seem to run as good as you would hope

id like to put a yz250 motor into my spare banshee roller just for kicks, apparently it was quite a common conversion for mofos that wanted to race the 250 class on a yammy back in the day, but fucked if i can find much about them, i doubt they were very competitive

 

there is ONE vid on youtube i found and it seems to hang ok with a trx450, hell it looked a bit faster to me in a roll on drag race

eh if your going that far may as well use a ktm 300. i think the newest generation cylinder '12+ will fit on the '03+ lowerend

nice thing about ktm is you got 3 different gear boxes with either 5 or 6 gears. adjustable PV and a bunch of other shit you can do to them. few different heads. a pile of different cdi boxes. few different crankshafts

i do regularly keep an eye on the KTM 300+ market 300/360/380, killer bikes for cheap, i want to keep it yammy though..prolly never gonna happen
