Hotrods crank o rings?

Hey guys. You will see in the picture below a missing o ring. Upon disassembly the o ring separated as it was split. Can these be replaced? Thanks.\\

Super glue the ends back together. Just helps the outer race from spinning

I can get replacements but not sure it will slip over crank... anyone have any experience?

grainger sells a do it yourself o ring kit, cut them to length, crazy glue together.

I can't see how it will fit but guess I am going to have to try. What purpose do they serve? Are they really there just to stop the bearing from spinning?

Wow. I see that my input was useless. you think it seals something? Really look at the bearing and tell me what would that oring seal that wont go between the balls and races?

But wouldn't all the explosion escape if that wasn't there?? I think it's 100% needed.

^ not sure if that's legit? But things go bang on the other side of the piston, so not entirely needed if you use sealant or LOCTITE on the outer race so it won't spin.

 

OP, why do you think they won't fit? They come with them correct? They are rubber and stretch. Just picture in your head how you can walk it over the journals and in between the journals so it can stretch up around the rod. It's fine. I'd imagine little Asian ladies in the factory are putting them on in a matter of seconds.
