RadarRacing Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 Make sure it is getting spark when it is in the "non running" condition. Coils can quit sparking after a while when they get warm. My guess at first was gascap vent and a fuel delivery problem. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 Maybe carry a meter and ohm the stator immediately when it shuts off. Quote
banshee35027 Posted October 6, 2014 Author Report Posted October 6, 2014 What should the ohm be? Quote
BUILDER Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 As a general rule when something dies hot and will not start till it cools off it is a coil. The coil gets too hot and will not produce spark till it cools down. If you coated the frame you really need to pull the coil back off and grind all the coating off of the frame where the coil mounts so you make sure you are getting a good ground. It is really common for people to have electrical problems after they paint or coat a frame. Quote
banshee35027 Posted October 7, 2014 Author Report Posted October 7, 2014 I will try that. I mean it's just when I get on it hard. I can ride it easy for ever and it's fine. Quote
