Ok, had the Shee up off the ground to clean/oil the chain and spin the tires .....Seemed like the rear axle had some play in it. I found that the sprokets and the whole axle move a bit from left to right...

Not sure if any slack is OK??

Maybe this is the bearings going bad??

I hope not.....Zerks fully lubed since I bought it...

Ideas ..... B)

id say there is not ment to be any movement left to right of the sprocket hub,

Try tighting the two axle nuts up, might wanna check your carrier bearings too they could be messed up

First your axle nuts . You will need to losen the outside nut first, so you can tighten the inside one.But first check and see if there is any play in you sprocket hud, it should be tight and not move from side to side.If it does tighten nuts.To check the bearings I would first spin the axle listen to see if I here any rough sound like griding noises or if whenn I tightened up the axle nuts it made it hard to spin the axle or it done something other than it should be doning ,I would pull the axle to look at them.Pulling the axle is not thst hard. Just take the rear tires off tthis will make the axle lighter, then remove the hub from the sprocket side of the axle, remove the axle nuts, slide the sproket hub off (before you do this you will need to remove the chain),then slide the axle out of carrier and inspect the bearings. If I go to the step of removing the axle I will have a set of bearings to replace the old ones with when I do it ,saves on down time of your shee

Good luck

Yes the sproket does move a little...So I guess I need to tighten the axle nuts..I will first loosen the outside one and try to tighten the inside one first....

Question: how tight should I tighten these?

Also, I might take the rear axle off if there are any further problems....I like the idea of putting in new bearings/grease !!!

Where would be a good place to get the bearings? Dealer, or online somewhere?

THanks

You can't tighten them tight enough to hurt anything...I promise. I weigh 210 and jumping on the wrench to tighten them....they still come loose in 3 rides if you don't use loctite.

Electrical tape, put a couple of wraps around the nuts after you get them tight and they will stay tight un till tape comes off.I usually put 3 ,or4 wraps. Beleive it or not it really does work.

Yeah, But Scott that looks like ass, r u ever gonna buy a one piece axle nut. LSR makes a really good one, tighten one and forget about it......You need to espically as much racing as you do. ;)

Spindles were perfect, my buddies got a front end know. LSR arms are a pain to adjust!!!!!

Update: Went out and FINALLY got the outside axle bolt off!!!!! Took a while but it broke loose and was going good.

Then I went to tighten the insidie one. It turned about 2-3 complete turns ..I think that was prolly too many...BUt anyways, before this the brake caliper and sproket where both moving...left to right etc. After tightening the inside nut, they dont move at all, and the axle seems to spin smoother too.

However while tightening the inside nut, it seemed to turn then come to a "stop" and would not turn any more! The problem is that there is still some play in the axle....But the sproket and brake caliper are both tight.

So, since the axle is spinning good, I hear NO noise that I can tell is not normal, the sproket and calpier are both tight, the inside nut seemed to come to a "stop" and would not tighten any more, BUT the axle still seems to move a little..

Any ideas :(
