EP82JM Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Hi, So yesterday I was out riding the banshee It was fine all day then suddenly it got stuck in what I think was 2-3 gear, all I could do was shift up to third and down to second again. I took it back to the house and still had the problem. When I pushed to lever down as if to go to first it felt as though it just wasn't going far enough, but it was also staying stuck down instead of popping back up (the lever) Couldn't get neutral at all,and if I rocked the quad back a bit it would pop up to 2nd gear again. After a while of trying it suddenly got gears again and was working 100% with no problems. I let a mate have a go on it and he stalled it across the field and was trying to start it in gear with the clutch pulled,I know it works but could it have caused this? Anyone any suggestions of what it could be? I'm going to give it a gear oil change anyway but would this be signs of the box starting to go? I've also noticed sometimes when you accelerate hard a bit of a clunk from the rear area, could this have been related? Thanks Quote
Larry's Shee Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 As you change the oil pull the clutch cover and inspect the external shift mech. If nothing there, time to split it Quote
NYUK Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 this^^^^^, if the eccentric not loose or broken, it`s inside. Quote
03DMshee Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 And check your pivot bearings on swingarm and carrier area for your clunk... Quote
