I've heard that yamaha was going to remove the BANSHEE from their line up for 7 years now and it still hasn't happened yet. However I'm sure that it is coming the Question is when. But in my oppinion there will never be a bike that can replace the BANSHEE.

I agree so far Banshee is the best, however,

I think when the it will get discontinued, then they get something much better than Banshee.

Couldnt have said it better myself..... but let me try(Yoda style) ahem... Discontinued when they get, much better however than Banshee it will be, Yes.

I think someone was hitting the crack pipe a bit much, lol J/K

If they discontinue the banshee, it won't be replaced by an upgraded banshee unless it's a 4-stroke banshee, then they'll name it something else. The banshee's are in danger of being discontinued because of environmentalist tree huggers. Yamaha I don't think will "completely" discontinue them, probably just not continue them in the US... other contries don't have a problem with them, and the market for the banshee is too big to completely shut down. Only time will tell though.

I just hope that for the last year they do something special for it. Maybe some redesigned plastic would be cool and even some chassis mods to help it handle better. Tree huggers suck what are you gonna do though.

track only that would be a smart way to get past the law

we will still be able to build banshees if we want yamaha sells evry nut bolt washer to build a brand spanking new one ;)

Track only would be a good option... but then you might get stuck with needing a racing license to purchase one. Who knows... I know I have mine now, and won't part with it unless I really really really have to... then I won't let it go without a fight.

More than likely in the next few years the Banshee won't be available at all. There might be some racer version available at a premium price but I seriously wouldn't bet on it. thats why Yamaha (and the other companys as well) have been working on 4-stroke technology so stringently. But anyway after a few more years of Banshees there should be plenty used available for those of us who still want one. Up until last year I was one of em. But I have since sold the shee and picked up a YFZ, finally an MX worthy 4-stroke. Now, believe me, the YFZ would hang with my shee untill 3rd gear but my Banshee would lay a serious spanking on this machine thereafter. So the Banshee is still definetly king of Drag racing and 2-strokes.
