Banshee Cylinders

My banshee cylinders measure 64.59 on a set of calipers. Is that good for 64.50 pistons, I'm wondering if the .09 is ring space or if I need to bore. Thanks

Take them to a machine shop to have them properly measured.

Ya, those tapes with the CM on them are super precise!

 

 

 

Take it to someone with an actual bore gauge. You need to check the whole bore in several spots not just the top with a micrometer.

Yea lol, most people cant measure by the thousandth by eye using a tape.

I used a set of Kobalt Caliper and they measured everywhere

How did you measure the diameter in the middle?

Calipers are junk. You need a bore gauge and micrometer.

There's 6 points to measure. No caliper will get you close to what a micrometer can.

Ok, rife. You don't just measure all over in the top. You have to actually measure inside the bore at different depths. Best result, let an engine builder/machinist fit the bore with the intended pistons.

 

He'll no! This is just to ball park a cylinders life only.

 

This is legit. Measure in as many points as you care to remember or write down. The industry standard I believe is now 6 points so the drawing is old.

No, it's three Measurements.

If the tool is clocked 90* at each measurement height to measure front to back then side to side yes that makes 6 points. But I guess I didn't even pay attention to the part where it shows A & B for each height.

Ok took them to the machine shop. They are going to hone and bore if necessary and have pistons ready for me.
