450 shocks are longer and drop the a-arms low enough to damage ball joints and give a pretty severe toe-in when the front suspension is unloaded.

I have 450 shocks on my Banshee with Full Flight +2 +1 arms. I cutdown the mounts by an inch, and turned them out slightly.

Now when the front suspension is unloaded, the a-arms drop the same distance they did with the stock shocks.

In reality the geometry of the steering and suspension pretty much sucks! I like the mod that some of the guys here are doing by welding on a whole front stub and suspension from the 450.

So you dont have aftermarket arms built for 450 suspension? i thought that the were setup to allow for a slightly longer shock. Maybe i went about this all wrong. What are the longest shocks you can run stock, +2, +2 yfz style, long travel is around 19.5 ive read.

I noticed people that run the 450 arms run the banshee spindles. But how much do the angles change using the actual yfz450 spindles?

I know that. I have j arm and was trying to figure out what was so different on the lowers to run the 450 shock. I wasnt gonna run stock 450 but thought a longer aftermarket shock would be nice

Well now I'm wondering why the switch over to the banshee spindles on the 450 setup? Cause I just switched to 450 spindles. The only real difference I noticed was the angle of the top balljoint mount...

Much Bette angle.

Aren't the lowers on the A arm and J arm the same? (Not positive) maybe they could set you up with just the lowers? Or even just buy a whole set up. Might even be possible to hi their website and see what differences you can visually make out. Edited by trickedcarbine

Im starting to think only the tab is different for shock clearance. The balljoint mounts are different for banshee and 450 spindles. Banshee is angled, 450 is flat. Spindles need to match arms. Any one know shock lengths?
