Eqbanshee Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 Me and my friends ride down at the local sand mines their yfzs 2012 and 2014 with stock tires make it up every mine no problem... I get stuck on the steep ones when they go right up! Opinions on non paddle tires. These are my stock tires Quote
sheerider11 Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 4 stroke torque vs 2 stroke power. I'm also looking for a good dirt tire for the sand. But nothing beats a paddle. Answers I got are Ohtsu 501 Ambush Terrain tracks Realtors Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 Try looking at what all the coal guys are running Quote
RadarRacing Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 22 inch kenda klaws work great. Holeshots are decent as well with low air. My bike would wheelie easily on sand with the 22" klaws on backwards and climb. Quote
Coupelx Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 Something thin and flexible that you can run just a couple pounds of air in so they flatten out. Quote
Eqbanshee Posted August 7, 2014 Author Report Posted August 7, 2014 The banshee got close then just dug into a rut Quote
sheerider1026 Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 Yep. 4snows will do better than you think. I ran them on dirt too. Didn't really wear Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 Best sand tires that are not paddles? Skat Trak Mohawks. FTW! LOL 1 Quote
jbooker82 Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 I had a set of ITP Blackwaters in a 20x11or12x8. They did good in the sand but we're on the heavy side. I ended up selling them. Wish I didn't because they are no longer made. Quote
Coupelx Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 you know that dirt and sand are different right? Quote
2slo4u Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 Sand tires unlimited Mini Desert Trak, competition cut. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 These dudes all seem to prefer the X BLOX 360 tire. Looks like they are in some pretty gnarly terrain and all running the same tire. Must work.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free Quote
