theputz Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Hello, I am having a battle with my Keihin PWKs and they are winning.... I purchased these new and having issues with fuel coming out of the overfill line on the bottom of the fuel bowl. I have set my floats and even went as far setting the level below the spec but still get a small amount leaking. This does not happen when sitting but more so when running. When idling and giving the throttle a few shots of gas the fuel slowly bubbles out. In a 3 minute period I had a fist size stain on the garage floor from each carb. What could it be???? I have tried the hose trick by blowing air through the fuel line with my mouth and with the floats closed I cannot blow through. With only being two years old I cant see the float need being worn? I cant feel them binding or rubbing on anything... I am at a loss.... HELP!!!! Quote
trickedcarbine Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 The hoses are ran down then ran flat against the cases? No big hoops or anything in the line? Quote

toytech Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 try tooth paste on a q tip and polish the seat for the float. Quote
hercalmighty Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 Any updates on this? I'm having the same problem with my 39 PWKs. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 The little vent stem in the bowl isn't bent? Quote
hercalmighty Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Everything looks perfect with mine. Brand new and installed pretty much right away. Mine only leaks after I give it throttle. I'm guessing at about 1/8 throttle on it starts bubbling out. I have never seen this before. I did have a thought that maybe bad reeds could be allowing an air flow back into the carbs but I could be totally off on that. Quote

theputz Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 tried new float valves, polished the seat with toothpaste, vent stem is fine...... at a complete loss.... Coil tests weak. Any chance this could be related to a weak spark? I am also getting excess smoke and oil from my exhaust as if the machine is rich but I am jetting at 45 pilot and 150 main.... Quote
